Program Guidelines

  • Grants up to $1,500 are available.
  • Each teacher may submit only one application. If more than one application is received from one teacher, neither will be considered.
  • Grant applications must be submitted by educators in the Martha’s Vineyard and Falmouth school districts, and must be applicable to a specific grade, department, or curriculum within the school. 
  • A complete project budget must be submitted with the application.

  • The following are not eligible for funding:
    1. Classroom supplies or libraries
    2. Field trips, extended trips and transportation
    3. Parties, refreshments or decorations
    4. Compensation for teachers or trips to attend educator conferences.
    5. Author visits
    6. Computers or computer equipment
Funding Considerations
    • Does the project provide maximum benefit to as many students as possible?
    • Does the project enhance the core and supplemental parts of the curriculum, support new educational paradigms, and/or result in richer learning experiences?
    • Does the project call for collaborative efforts between educators?
    • Does the project have clear, measurable outcomes?
Review and Approval Process

  • The application deadline is Wednesday September 23rd, 2026, 11:59PM. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.  
  • Uploaded attachments must be in PDF format. Applications with attachments in a format other than PDF may not be considered. Attachments in HEIF and HVEC formats cannot be read and will not be considered.
  • Grant awards will be announced in late September/early October 2025. Recipients will be invited to attend the Martha's Vineyard Bank Charitable Foundation Art of Giving event shortly thereafter.

By submitting this grant application to Martha’s Vineyard Bank Charitable Foundation, I agree to the following Terms and Conditions of any grant awarded:

  • All awarded funds will be sent to the school or district for distribution. Funds will not be sent directly to educators.
  • All materials/technology/etc. purchased with grant funds shall remain property of the school/district where the grant was awarded.
  • A post-project evaluation must be completed as requested by the Foundation. Failure to do so will result in ineligibility for future funding.This post-project narrative can be in letter, or any other format. Photographs should be included where possible.
  • Images and project details may be used in promotions for Martha's Vineyard Bank Charitable Foundation. Assistance, such as photos, testimonials, interviews and materials, will be provided as requested. 
  • Prior approval must be granted by the Foundation for any substantive changes in the focus or implementation of the project.
