Welcome, and thank you for your interest in our College Scholarship!

The Martha’s Vineyard Bank Charitable Foundation will award six $12,000 college scholarships: four to residents of Martha’s Vineyard, and two to residents of Falmouth. College Scholarships are paid in four annual installments of $3,000 each. Our selection process is competitive. Academic merit, extracurricular activities, employment history, financial need, leadership skills, character, and community service are all taken into consideration.

Who is eligible to apply?

To be considered for a College Scholarship, you must meet all three of the following qualifications:

· Be a year-round resident of Falmouth or Martha’s Vineyard

· Be a current senior at a high school on Cape Cod or Martha's Vineyard or be homeschooled on Cape Cod or Martha's Vineyard. Students who attend boarding schools are not eligible.

· Have plans to attend a 4-year college or university next year

When is the application due?

Applications must be completed and submitted by 11:59pm on Thursday, March 19, 2026. All letters of recommendation and transcripts must also be submitted by this date. The application is not complete until submitted using the "Confirm" button and the confirmation message is displayed. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered, including for technical difficulties. Please plan accordingly.

What is required with the application?

A high school transcript, including the first semester of senior year, must be uploaded with each application. One letter of recommendation is also required, which may be uploaded with the application, or alternately, upload instructions can be emailed to the recommender directly. If you choose this second option, please submit this application with sufficient time for a recommender to submit their portion by the deadline. A second letter of recommendation or other supporting material may optionally be provided but is in no way expected. The lack of a second letter of recommendation will not reflect negatively on an application. Applicants are responsible for communication and follow up with recommendation providers beyond the upload link send by the Martha's Vineyard Bank Charitable Foundation.

What if I have questions?

At any point in your application, if you need more information or have questions, you may save your progress and finish later, but the application must be submitted by the deadline. If you wish to save a copy of your submission, you may print the application to PDF before submitting. Once submitted, you will no longer have access to your application. College Scholarship Terms

Completing this application does not guaranty a scholarship. For an application to be considered, the applicant must meet the stated eligibility criteria and the application must be complete and submitted, including all required supporting documentation, by 11:59PM, Thursday March 13, 2025, without exception.

Scholarships will be paid in four equal annual installments. To maintain the scholarship, recipients must be enrolled at an accredited four-year college or university and keep a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher. Each August, recipients will be sent a request for a current transcript and proof of enrollment. It is the responsibility of the scholarship recipient to submit this required paperwork to foundation@mvbank.com annually, and it is required in order to initiate each annual payment.

Scholarships are made payable to the college/university and mailed directly to the school. Students may transfer to a different school and still receive scholarship installments in accordance with the above eligibility criteria. Should the student take a gap year, the installment may be postponed. Recipients have up to six years to receive all four installments.
